The Serie Q is Jaguar Industrial’s four-shaft shredder line for processing industrial, commercial, and special waste. Capacity up to 30 t/h, with particle size control and resistance to heavy contaminants.
The key feature is the ONE STEP concept: the same machine works as a pre-shredder or granulator, depending on the removable screen. With the screen installed, material passes through calibrated holes (15-120 mm) for controlled output. Without the screen, the machine performs decharacterization of bulky materials — mattresses, sofas, bales, industrial waste.
This eliminates the need for two machines in line, reduces investment, and simplifies operations.
Mechanical architecture
The Serie Q is built for continuous multi-shift operation.
Four parallel shafts
Hexagonal shafts with interleaved blades from 15 to 70 mm wide. They rotate in opposite directions for scissor-type cutting. Each shaft has 4 bearings for stability under heavy loads.
Special steel blades
Made from heat-treated carbon steel, with optional hard-face weld overlay on cutting edges (58-62 HRC).
Unlike replaceable inserts, welded blades:
- Better resist heavy metallic contaminants (bolts, nuts, steel components)
- Can be refurbished by welding and machining, reducing TCO
- Receive application-specific coatings (e.g., tires = abrasion and heat resistance)
- Accept carbon steel blade bodies (lower cost) or Hardox (higher resistance)
Triple sealing
External labyrinth + internal labyrinth + rubber seal. Prevents dust, liquids, and fine particles from entering the bearings. Critical for wet materials or high-dust applications.
Segmented side scrapers
Prevent material buildup on rotor sides. Quick replacement without full disassembly.
Removable tempered steel screen
Holes from 15 to 120 mm depending on model and application. Changed via hydraulic cylinders. Different configurations can be kept in stock for quick changeover between materials.
Anti-shock mechanical clutch
Present in all models except Q2923. Acts as a mechanical fuse: decouples the motor from the cutting system under extreme overload, protecting motor, gearbox, and shafts. After contaminant removal, restart without corrective maintenance.
Planetary gearboxes
High reduction ratio for 20-40 RPM with high torque. Efficient processing of dense and fibrous materials with lower energy consumption per ton.
Reinforced carbon steel frame
Robust frame, anti-corrosion coating, compact design. Reinforced steel base for stability under dynamic loads.
Electrical system & controls
Compliant with NR10, NR12, and ABNT NBR 5410.
Panel with PLC and touchscreen HMI
All models: PLC with 4.3” touchscreen HMI (standard) or 7” (optional). Enables operation, real-time parameter display, alarm logging, and preventive maintenance information.
Automatic reversal
Monitors motor current. Detects overload or jamming and reverses shaft rotation to release material. Automatic return to normal operation.
Data logging
The PLC logs alarms, faults, overloads, and maintenance intervals. Data exportable to CMMS or supervisory platforms.
Connectivity
Ethernet or 4G for SCADA integration, remote support, and real-time monitoring.
Variable frequency drive
Standard on Q6900, optional on other models. Shaft speed control, consumption optimization, and soft motor start.
