What It Is

The Smart Automatic Reversal system is a PLC-controlled anti-jam protection feature that continuously monitors motor current and torque. When an overload or jam is detected, the system automatically reverses the shafts to clear the obstruction and resumes forward operation — all without operator intervention. Unlike conventional shredders that simply stop on overload and require manual clearing, this intelligent system keeps your throughput running.

How It Works

The PLC continuously monitors motor current draw and shaft torque in real time. When values exceed the programmed threshold (indicating a jam or overload), the system executes a controlled sequence:

  1. Forward rotation stops immediately

  2. Shafts reverse for a calibrated duration to release the material

  3. Forward rotation resumes automatically

  4. If the jam persists after multiple reversal attempts, the system alerts the operator

Reversal parameters (current threshold, reversal duration, number of attempts) are fully adjustable via the PLC to match the specific material and application.
