Bolted Blade System
The main differentiator of the D57 is its bolted and replaceable blade system:
- Selective replacement: only worn inserts are replaced, not the entire assembly. The blade body (heat-treated carbon steel) has a long service life.
- High wear-resistance steel inserts: lower inventory required (less cost and storage space)
- Bolt locking sized for high axial loads; eliminates thermal fatigue failure points (unlike welded blades)
- Quick change with standard tools (impact wrenches, torque wrenches), without shaft disassembly
- Predictable wear: monitorable through periodic inspection, enables planned downtime
