Blade Resharpening & Refurbishment

Precision grinding and hard-facing for industrial shredder blades.

Resharpening is the service that most impacts operating cost per ton. A worn blade increases energy consumption, reduces processing capacity, generates irregular particle size and accelerates wear on counter-blades and shafts.

Jaguar Industrial offers resharpening and reconditioning with dimensional and hardness control, restoring tools to original specification.

Process

Receiving and inspection: each blade is inspected visually and dimensionally. Blades with cracks, plastic deformation or wear beyond the recoverable limit are segregated and the customer is informed about the need for replacement.

Surface grinding: edges restored by surface grinding with temperature control to preserve hardness. Removes the worn layer and restores the original cutting geometry.

Hard-facing (when applicable): for blades with hard-facing overlay (common in Q Series), includes reapplication of the overlay with specified electrode, followed by machining for dimensional finish.

Quality control: final dimensional verification and hardness testing (HRC) per batch.

Packaging and return: protection against impact and corrosion.

Lead time and logistics

Typical lead time of 5 to 10 business days after receipt. For customers with a service contract or blade rental program, the process includes advance shipment of a replacement set.
