Tire Shredder — D57

Dual-shaft 125 HP shredder for tire recycling. Whole car and truck tires without pre-cutting; pre-cut OTR. Replaceable blades. Domestic manufacturing.

Dual-shaft shredder designed for processing end-of-life tires, with bolted, replaceable blades and automated control.

Bolted Blade System

The main differentiator of the D57 is its bolted and replaceable blade system. Replacement is selective: only the worn insert is changed, and the blade body stays in the machine. Replaceable inserts reduce the parts inventory and the cost of spares. The bolt locking is sized for high axial loads and eliminates the thermal fatigue failure points of welded blades. The change is quick, with standard tools (impact wrenches and torque wrenches), without disassembling the shafts. Wear is predictable and monitorable through periodic inspection, which allows planned downtime.

Technical Architecture

Hexagonal shafts provide higher torsional resistance for the elevated, variable stresses of tire processing. Each shaft runs on 04 bearings for stability and extended service life. Triple sealing combines an external labyrinth, an internal labyrinth and a rubber seal, protecting the bearings against rubber dust and metal particles. Automatic overload reversal reverses rotation in case of jamming. Segmented side scrapers remove adhered material from the shafts.

Tire Chip Applications

Tire chips supply asphalt paving, where incorporation into asphalt improves mechanical properties and durability; reclaimed rubber production, for mats, industrial flooring and automotive components; energy recovery, as alternative fuel in cement kilns, boilers and cogeneration plants; civil engineering, for drainage, lightweight fill and slope protection; and rubber products, such as safety flooring, stable mats and playground components.

Processes whole radial car and truck tires without pre-cutting, and pre-cut OTR (off-the-road) tires from construction and mining machinery.

The D57 is part of the D Line of dual-shaft shredders. See the full overview of end uses, particle sizes and sizing in End-of-Life Tire Recycling.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which tires can go in whole? Radial car and truck tires go in whole, without pre-cutting. OTR (off-the-road) tires from construction and mining machinery go in pre-cut. See End-of-Life Tire Recycling for details.

What are the power and rotation of the D57? The main motor is rated at 125 HP and the rotors run at 20-40 RPM, with high torque for steel-reinforced tires.

How does blade replacement work, and what is the blade lifespan? Blades are bolted, with replaceable inserts changed with hand tools, without shaft disassembly. Typical lifespan is 2,000-3,000 tons of passenger tires before the inserts need replacing.

What determines the output particle size? The installed blade width (50-100 mm) and the classifier setting determine the output, with a typical range of 50-150 mm. Secondary granulators reduce the material to 1-10 mm for flooring and rubber products.
